​Mark Hempton has enjoyed Province Lake in Effingham since the 1960s.  After an education out-of-state (PhD in Geology) and a career as an energy & engineering geologist in California, Texas, and Scotland, he returned to Effingham full-time in 2015.  Mark has lifelong interest and experience in renovating old houses, buildings, and trucks.  He currently volunteers as the Vice President for the Effingham Preservation Society and Building Manager for the G.A.L.A. Community Center in Wolfeboro.

Effingham Preservation Society is a 501(c)3 organization established in 1999 to preserve historic buildings and landmarks in Effingham, New Hampshire.  The Preservation Society has agreed to be the Fiscal Agent of the Historic Town Hall Project.
