4Erik was born and raised in Effingham and has been a history-loving geek for as long as he can remember.    After 20 years living "away", during which time he earned a BA in History from the University of Richmond and a Master's-level Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Non-Profit Learning Point/Virginia Commonwealth University, Erik returned to Effingham full time in 2012.    In addition to his current positions, Erik has been involved with the Effingham Historical Society, serving as its Treasurer, and with the Lord's Hill Meeting House, serving as its President.

Currently, Erik works for the United States Postal Service and looks forward, each spring, to the Historic Tour of Effingham that he helps to coordinate for the 3rd grade class at Effingham Elementary School.

Historical factoid: The Historic Town Hall building served as just one of the 19 schools (both public and private) known to have existed in Effingham over the past 242 years . . . and counting.

This project was funded in part by a grant from the NH Preservation Alliance, which received support for its grants program from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP).
